1st Customer Review : Great for Beach
Provides excellent protection for your iphone. If your drop your phone a lot then this is the case for you. It is great for the beach because it keeps water and sand off. It is not waterproof but if your just got out of the water it will keep moisture off better than any other case.
Pros: Very protective, keeps phone dry when handling it with wet hands or hair, rubber coverings protect charging port and headphone adapter, and plastic screen protects iphone screen.
Cons: bulky, because of rubber outer case the phone does not move easily into and out of pockets and if you use an iphone charging dock you have to disassemble case completely each night to charge.
Bottom line: Perfect for summer time use on the beach, boat and work-outs. Winter time I switch to the speck candy shell case. It provides descent protection and moves easily in and out of pockets.

This Otterbox Defender Case was perfect for my husband's iPhone. He did not want the holster, and that's exactly the way this case was offered. It arrived quickly and was brand new. Recommend for anyone who wants to protect their iPhone, but doesn't want the bulk of the holster.

I don't know what other reviewers were referring to "Not as good as a retail case" cause this is the real Otterbox Defender. I decided I needed a case that could withstand the abuse that any phone I own endures. I admit, it adds bulk to your phone, but your options are having a sleek case and then dropping your phone and winding up with a broken and cracked screen (Which happened to me before I bought the Otterbox, luckily it was repairable), or using a product like this and getting to keep your phone, I think the choice is pretty obvious. I know this particular model that I am reviewing is being sold without the holster, but honestly this is an unbeatable deal because the holster is pretty useless anyways according to the other reviews of this product w/ the holster. I am also not experiencing any of the oil slick or echoing problems that other reviewers have complained about. My particular case that I recieved is missing the felt covers for the speakers tho, I am unsure at this...
