1st Customer Review : Great protection and access to controls, but still a little bulky
I got my first iPhone in October (2012), and was determined to get a good protective case. I had heard lots of good things about the Otterbox brand, but was concerned about having a bulky case for such a slim phone. I decided to pass on the Defender series (I work in an office, not in construction), and went with the Commuter series. I like that it's not nearly as bulky as the Defender, but given that the iPhone 5 is sooo slim, I was a bit disappointed to lose that low profile by quite a margin by putting it into the Commuter case.
HOWEVER...
I am very impressed with how well protected it is. I had dropped my last phone (HTC Evo) and broke it for good. Admittedly, I have had a few slips here and there with my new iPhone and the case really does its job! I think I just have to accept the fact that my phone moves around a lot and can sometimes take a dive. With this case, I am much, much less worried about how it'll hold up if it goes to the floor...

2nd Customer Review : Overall Pleased
I bought the case through otterbox prior to recieving my 5 and knew there reputation with my coworkers (Firefighters/Paramedics) who put their products through hell. I also knew that I didn't want the defender considering its pretty bulky. So I decide on the step down.
Well I am overall pleased with the commuter.
Pros:
-It's bulky, but solid.
-It's easy to remove and clean.
-It's seems like it would protect my device if I dropped it (and has considering I am clumsy).
Cons:
The apple logo pass through isn't protected. So short of buying a rear protective cover its going to get dirty and possibly scratch.
The ridge in the front is tall. However, it does offer a bit of security.
The hard plastic case is slick. Which isn't a bad thing until you place it on your lap while driving. Then it flies across the car and you'll be stranded hearing it beep and buzz out of reach.

3rd Customer Review : Seems like it might have been rushed
I bought this to protect my iPhone 5, and I have multiple otter boxes. All of them protected my phones and iPad very well. I have bought 4 otterbox cases total so far. The rubber on this seems like it was not perfectly fitted on the phone. The rubber part of the iPhone volume control protrudes out a little bit. This allows dust and debris to get into the case. Also the edges on the rubber seem to be rough. There were extra rubber hanging off areas around the screen, and on the port cover. Otterbox makes better quality then this, I am not sure what happened here. This came with the rubber cover, the plastic outer shell, and screen protector. I also had the Otterbox over a full body Ghost Armor to protect the phone from any dust that might get inside. I've dropped this about once or twice and it held up with almost no scratches on the case
The product loses a star due to product control with the rubber.
