1st Customer Review : The Defender CASE is great, the belt clip TERRIBLE
I got this belt clip with my OtterBox Defender case for my iPhone 3GS. The belt clip DOES NOT HOLD THE PHONE SECURELY, so the belt clip is EXTREMELY prone to dropping the phone.
In the six or eight months I've had the Otter case / belt clip, I've dropped my phone due to my own clumsiness ONCE, but the phone has hit the deck because this lousy belt clip dropped it maybe 99 times, including once in the toilet! Because the Defender CASE is so amazingly effective, my iPhone lives unscathed, with nary a scratch, but (oh the irony) the OtterBox BELT CLIP is by far the single greatest threat that my iPhone faces. The BELT CLIP warrants NO STARS, zero, zip, nada, nil.
The design of this belt clip is simply a failure. First of all, unless everything is absolutely perfect, the Defender case does not "snap in" to this belt clip. If any part of (sides or bottom) the Otter Defender silicone cover is not perfectly fit onto the case and properly closed up, or if any small bit...

2nd Customer Review : not very good
I lost my iPhone 3gs when the phone made bad contact with the case and slipped out. I recommend the seidio case and clip. It holds the phone much more secure with its manual release spring clip. Otterbox really screwed up when they gave up the "slip in" type case for this friction lock type. If your in public safety, the case is second to none, but the belt clip is terrible. Hope it helps.
3rd Customer Review : The phone faces into the belt clip.
I have read some of the 3 star and below reviews and I wonder if this isn't operator error. This is by no means meant as derogatory towards those people who have rated this product poorly but was the front of the phone facing the inside of the belt clip? I got mine six months ago and the thing works like a charm, if it is facing inwards. My wife hated her's at first but that was because it was facing outwards and ANY movement would make it slip from or fall from the belt clip. This design offers extra protection because you have a hard platic back between the screen of your phone and any material or objects that could damage it. All in all great product and no complaints on my part.
