1st Customer Review : Pleasantly Surprised
Like most of us, I have spent a lot of money 'protecting' my iPhones over the years. I have tried various cases; bulky, flimsy, soft, hard, smooth, grippy, plastic, rubber, expensive and inexpensive. No case is perfect, as you can see by the mediocre reviews of so many different cases. However, I thought I'd try this new one, the Ottorbox Commuter Series case, based on only 1 review, which was 5 stars. I am pleased by the precise fit, the level of protection, the look, the slim design, the simplicity, and feel pleasantly surprised and pleased to have finally found a case that meets/exceeds my needs without digging deeply into my pockets. Otterbox even includes a screen protector. At this low price, this is really a great deal. I prefer this case over any of the other cases I've ever used, including the other Otterbox models, as well as Incase, Incipio, and Speck...all more expensive cases. So I highly endorse this product to all 4 and 4S customers.

2nd Customer Review : Perfect, and inexpensive.
I had bought a Lifeproof Case that I couldn't stand, so I returned it.
The next day I started poking around Amazon looking for an Otterbox Defender. I found out the Defender had the built-in screen protector much like the Lifeproof, so I decided to go with the Otterbox Commuter, where I could add (or not add) a screen protector of my choice. Because it was being sold in the "non-retail packaging", it was only about 2/3rds the cost of the other Otterbox Commuters on Amazon (and I got in in 2 days, free shipping w/ my Amazon Prime). The "non-retail packaging" meant a sealed bag, which contained the two layers of the case, plus a clear screen protector, a little squeegee for applying it (I think!), and a small microfiber cloth. If less packaging means saving 1/3rd- I LOVE it!
This is a solid case. The first layer of rubbery/neoprene type material goes over the phone, then a hard plastic shell of some type over that. The rubbery layer has a flap that goes over the charging...
3rd Customer Review : Commuter or Defender: Which is Better?
Protecting a $200 phone is quite a formidable task and a lot of cell phone case companies do not seem to understand protection. They strive for style, design, and aesthetics. To me, this is all nonsense. Otterbox understands the principle of protection better than any other company making these types of products. Fuction is what I am looking for and and this company produces fuctioning cell phone cases. These 4S generation cases share an improved design, mainly with the camera area. I think people were complaining about shadowed pictures and video due to the tight camera cut out. They widened it to ensure the new 8MP camera with not be hindered by a design flaw.
First, the defender technically provides more protection than the commuter and also comes with a handy holster with a clip. However, the defender is bulky and the port covers do not stay as well as the model for the 3GS. Also, I am not a fan of the defender because of the screen protector it comes with. Eventually,...
